Knurled trees, like something out of a fairy tale, a Rackham drawing.

IIn days of yore when Cows did roam abroad in Olde England fair
they'd leave a stinky marker to trace their way home at end of day. It has never been documented that any cow did slip upon any 'stinky markers'
As the diet of these roaming beasts was changeable at least, the droppins were rather fluid, this fluid manure encouraged the wild flowers to grow there-upon - that's why the flower is called Cow slip !
'The common name cowslip derives from the Old English cūslyppe meaning "cow dung", probably because the plant was often found growing amongst the manure in cow pastures.' quote from Wiki

I have never seen so many cowslips in one place before! I have noticed there are a lot around this year though. Like.
Best wishes, Rosa.
Beautiful picture with nice colors. LIKE :o)
Just spotted this take in your gallery that I (Like)good to see so many wild flowers this year. Don't talk about the cow that slipped think about the poor photographer that slipped on a cow-pat.
Somehow, a typically English scene. Love it! Y*.
Best wishes, Brian.
