I have been watching this nest every day, with anticipation, since I took this photo on May 11th. I just went out to see if the mother was away so I could sneak a shot. There were bent branches on one side of the bush and the nest was empty. I found some coarse, light coloured fur on one branch and I am guessing that a raccoon (that has been knocking down my bird feeder), found the nest and took the eggs. I think one positive thing from this negative outcome, is that the birds were taken as eggs and not after they hatched. I am so sorry everyone. :(

Nice photo, but Not a happy end.

It happen to robins last year on my pear tree. and year before to cardinal family. (even the papal connection did not work)

This year, they decided while is very nice here; there is lots of crime in the neighbourhood. They decided to build there condo somewhere else!
