Window of abandoned house

I spent a good part of the day at our local mini-Pripiyat, North Ridge Estates, an upscale building site that had to be abandoned in 2001 due to asbestos contamination. It's eerie, and absurd that so much has gone to waste. About three families have stayed behind and, as far as anyone knows, they're thriving. However, cleanup is still in progress as money becomes available.

Yes, a very strange place. Huge, expensive houses abandoned. The weirdest thing is the lack of looting or squatters, who would not care about the trace amount of asbestos. The area is not fenced - I suppose the occasional security guard passes through. This would not happen in an urban area!
