The Blast Furnace
Selected for Google Earth [?] - ID: 72496591
Not the prettiest of structures but this furnace is a very welcome blot on the Teesside landscape and many people are grateful for it's new lease of life after the recent closure when it was felt that steelmaking for which the area is known worldwide was to become a thing of the past. Hopefully the future will be as bright as the lights that show here.

It may not be the prettiest of structures to some.... but you cant believe what a smile this picture put on my face. :)
The heartwarming furnaces I am thinking of are not your location - but it still stirs a huge nostalgic set of memories for me.
A lot of my family are/were living in Scunthorpe, and as a child, I loved the sight and smell of the works.
Your picture is spectacular :)
best wishes Dean
