Mount Athabasca at dawn (1962)

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

When my parents and I were driving from Jasper to Banff, we noticed a hotel across from Mount Athabasca. They had one room available with a view toward the mountains. We stayed there, and I happened to wake up just before sunrise. I went to the window and silently took pictures while my parents continued to sleep. Then I went back to bed, filled with a joyful memory of the magical scene I had witnessed.

Some years ago I have been there, too. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to choose and scan the tons of slides done at this time. I like this powerful atmosphere: mountains are life. Greetings from the southern side of the Swiss Alps. Andrea
