Inukshuk, on Lakeshore since 2002

Inukshuk, 30 ft tall, (meaning in the spirit and image of man.) mountain rose granite structure. These figures of stone are usualy erected by the Inuit people and are found in the Canadian Arctic. Standing along Canada’s most northern shores, it symbolizes the strength and the importance of people relationships. There are many Inukshuks on the shores our lake, as it is easy to build in few minutes. My neighbour (not an Inuit) erected one on his lawn too.

It replaced an military Lancaster Bomber B-17 airplane and Sherman tank, which stood on this spot (used to be called Battery Park) from about 1965. (another Lost Toronto story)
