The sculpture 'Kagmanden' is cut in wood in 1993 and placed on the square in connection of the 750 years anniversary of the city Tønder.
The original sculptur from 1699 is standing at the Tønder museum. It has originally been located centrally in the square, as the law enforcer to fear, and warning of frivolous girls and thieves. Delinquents and criminals was then flogged, that is tied to a pole and whipped in public.
