McLaughlin Planetarium, 1968-1995 ; another Toronto victim of budget cut.
Selected for Google Earth [?] - ID: 72583697
McLaughlin Planetarium (1968) on the south-end of R.O.M. after receiving a $2 million donation from Colonel R. Samuel McLaughlin. Do not plan your visit here! By the 1980s, the planetarium’s audiences were dwindling, and the facility was forced to shut down in 1995 due to budget cuts.
It is used for storage now!!

Not a big loss, except for school kids, in my opinion. I was there once in 35 years, my second visit in planetarium in my life. They used to have laser show to rock music, but it only extended the life a bit.

What a sad tale this planetarium holds! But, your image is fascinating, excellent contrasts in shape and texture. LIKE from the USA!

There is a building in Toronto which has 14000 windows covered in thin layer of 24 carat gold.
One day I will post a photo of it. (Royal Bank tower )
