I was on Shemya with RCA White Alice in 1968 & 1969. Your photos sure bring back some memories!

I confess, I worked for White Alice but didn't make it to Shemya as a tech -- that photo of the Shemya tropo antennas wasn't mine, but it was begging to go here so I plugged it in. I was at Sparrevohn in '67 and '68, and was thereafter transferred to Tok.

However, I went thru the WACS orientation class at Bear Creek in 1967 with a buddy named Doug, and he became a tech at Shemya. Maybe he was still there in 1968 when you arrived?

I finally was able to visit Shemya in 2003, as a construction worker on the Missile Defense project. It's not quite the edge of the world, but you can see it from there....
