Dear Palmina Moore. I have posted this for you and for your special husband> Unlike the ostrich, this fellow will not hurt even a finger - his lips are too rubbery!!

It may be a "bad hair (or hairless) day," but oh! those eyelashes!! Nice shot.

Oh you girls just love the strangest of creatures!!

No wonder your husbands will take you anywhere: to Namibia and the Galapgos, on wild long drives on very snowy short days to the far corners of Alberta, or to sanctuaries or ostrich farms to be picked on!

Palmina, you portraits of Emus are superior to this one, but as I was passing by, I thought of you and just had to stop, click, download and then upload for you! Just for you! But then Pam and Marilyn just love him/her (how do you identify the sex of an emu??)

I am glad you all like him/her.

By the way do you know what colour the meat of an emu is? Red, white, green or purple?? Have you tried emu meat, yet, Palmina?

Oh, poor thing, he isn't too beautiful but i would give him a kiss! I have to post a few my daughter's pics. She has one of a hornbill with similar eyelashes.

Cheers, Inessa

Oh Inessa - you wouldn't, would you? He has rubbery lips!!

I'll be watching for the hornbill. We know an affectionate one in a bird park in Bali. He'd be easier to kiss than on "old man emu"!

Ian, the hornbill is already in:). It is a ground hornbill, a bit different one. You will easy find him on the first page.

Greetings, Inessa

Ian, This one can not believe it that he maybe later will look so!

Greetings of Vienna, Manfred

Dear Manfred,

I reckon this one looks like a stuffed animal that a child has carried around for 5 or 6 years, bare-threaded in places, stuffing coming out in others, pulled and sucked and dribbled on! But loved almost to death.

Don't show this picture to your emu!! It may make him depressed.

Thanks for your visit Manfred.
