Espevær is a unique little island community in the North Sea. The houses huddle together in the sound, protected from the ravages of the sea and storms. Once the largest fishing community in Bømlo, with up to 30,000 fishermen in the rich herring years of the 1850”s. Hummerparken, built in 1887 and restored in 1994, is a unique cultural monument. Take a walk to the «UFO ring» which mystically appeared in 1975 and can still
be clearly seen. The old Baadehuset, built in 1850 on old stone walls dating from 1690, is now a museum. Shops and a restaurant.
Espevær is one of the most beautiful places in Norway!
