I never fort you had any of these. It looks like a new gun surrounded by old brick work.

It appears that your region has cannon in better nick than the ones around here.... Like. Regards, Ian

It was a fjøløy not to have fort about that KC. ;-)

This region was well protected in WW2. I think the gun may be reconditioned - it's obviously been re-painted, but the gun turret is original. The fort was used by the Norwegian military for a few years after the war ended, but I don't know much about yet.

I'm not sure where your region is exactly Ian, but this coast in Rogaland was very well defended. I doubt the canon is original, though it may be, and has been well maintained. Of course now it is there as an historical reminder of the occupation of the country. There are some amazing bunkers around this coast as well.

I found about 4 gun emplacements in this area. 2 of the others had no turrets. There is a really large gun in Kristiansand. I have yet to see it.

Warm wishes from Rogaland, Amelia

They probably put a new cannon in case anyone tries to steal all that oil.

You could well be right Mick! :)))

It's an impressive place with a lot to see here.
