Nathan Phillips Square fountain -- Texting with Blackandwhiteberry

Nathan Phillips Square.

The reflective pool in front of "New" City Hall (1965) is used in winter time for ice skating. The square hold various festivals during the summer, but last 2 years it is being renovated, so the festivals are held in other places. The progress of the renovation is painfully slow, and from the look of it, I do not see the changes as much improvement. The original architect (Viljo Revell) would be probably upset, but he died before the original contruction was completed.

Update, (August 2012) The fountain is no more. It was buldozered and not sure if it was going to be rebuild. Our dear mayor saw another fountain in Edmonton and now he wants it on his playground.

Update -2. (Jan 2013) The pool was rebuild and people are skating on it again.
