Of minor note in this photo on the right edge you can see the circular antenna called a "Wullen-Webber" or dinosaur cage; high-frequency direction finder. Now that everyone uses satellites these DF sites I think are pretty much all gone.
to Jack999...it sounds like you were there when the 360 degree pole antennas with the ops center in the middle was operational. Were you Navy, Marine Corps, or Air Force?
