DSC01792 X-3D Wien 9/15/07 - NE view

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Hi, If you like to see this scene in dazzling 3D, please cross your eyes until left and right images overlap in the center. The center area should appear in 3D. You can also copy the entire image and paste it to Stereo Photo Maker for full screen viewing with zoom and pan ability or changing the 3D viewing technique. This image pair from a lava cave or the purple lotus flower is good for beginners due to their simplicity.

As you may have noticed, these images are simply taken with some offset distance between them with a regular digital camera. Therefore it is also possible for you to use your regular camera to start making your own stereoscopic 3D photographs with the mentioned software and share.

Wishing you best of luck for your success on this very simple to make yet amazingly rewarding technique.

Ha - that's great! On the left you can almost see the animals in the Zoo Schoenbrunn (the eldest zoo of the world!) and the large white building with the red/grey roof at the upper edge is the Technisches Museum and with a little bit of luck I can see my mother in law waving out of her window! ;-)

Hi, Sonny. Unfortunately this pair has suffered from the optical imperfections of the two layers of the plastic passenger airplane windows. But still better than noting. The dark trees in the scene appears to be taller then anything else in 3D. They must be some special trees. I'll wave at your mother in love next time if I fly over the same area :) Thanks for your nice museum X-3D. Best wishes, Volkan

Well, I think it's great though! The trees you mention are very old and don't just seem so prominent. The Zoo is on the left side in the middle and above it on the left edge you see the orangerie where they have to cut down a palm tree right now which was planted by the famous "Sisi". Next to the Zoo is a large botanical garden where you can find more than hundred different trees from all over the world. The whole area Schoenbrunn is a small version of Versailles and definitely a nice place to visit.

I recently took some pics from the Kahlenberg (also a famous tourist spot) where you can see all over Vienna (the last pics at ©Sonny. Nothing compared to an arial shot but at least a little higher position ;-)

Sonny, thanks for all the info. It is good to know details of the pictures. However the dark trees are really appearing taller than anything within the picture :) It is nice to see your pictures too. Thanks, Hae nice weekend, Volkan
