Petrified tree stump at Florissant, Colorado (1981)

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

It is not surprising that a petrified tree stump from the distant past looks about the same recently as it did in 1981. The main difference? In 1981 I did not have to contend with a fence!

Much better here, Marilyn, but if we want the things for a long time we have to protect them. Thus the fence. Cheers, Dany

Unfortunately, Dany, you're right. But we can look back with nostalgia at a time when that didn't seem necessary. Cheers, Marilyn

Dear Marilyn, it must be amazing to see this witness of a time long gone by, whereas time from our point of view, flies so rapidly.

A happy weekend and warmest regards,

May
