Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Angelokastro or Aggelocastro is located in the southeast of the prefecture of Corinth. It is situated at an altitude of 800 meters on the south side of "Politis (citizen)" mountain. From findings clearly show that the place has been inhabited from the Neolithic era. During its long history, has gone through periods of prosperity and decline, following the course. During the Byzantine period, came peak, as seen from the church of St. Nicholaos, whose paintings are of the highest art, dating from the 10th to the 12th century and from the nearby castle, built during the period dynasty Emperor Angelos Komnenos, of which probably took the name "Aggelokastro".
