The King of the Hill mine, Tarmoola, via Leonora, Western Australia

Following the wall collapse of the Tarmoola open pit in 2004, mining ceased as an open cut mine. When St Barbara Limited took over the mine as part of their purchase of the gold assets of the failed Sons of Gwalia mines, they decided to create an underground operation. This is the portal entrance to that underground which has been in production since late 2010.
