I was there last year and I noticed these houses all over the city. Some, like these were boarded up and presumably slated for demolition, while others were still occupied and kept up. I'd be very interested to know the history of these houses.

Let me point my brother at this photo. Maybe he can shed some light. My parents retired back to Columbus in 1978, and my brother returned back to there in 1982, after a "hitch" in the Air Force.
