Photographer stands at Siena Point within the Elfin Forest looking northwest across Morro Bay. Morro Rock is evident on the horizon, while the Morro Bay Sand Spit occupies the left two thirds of the horizon. Incised channels are evident in the shallow bay, particularly the drainage from Los Osos Creek at image right. The ancient Chumash peoples exploited shellfish at this part of Morro Bay from settlements within the Elfin Forest and also from the Los Osos Back Bay site (Los Osos Junior High School site).
