Well yes, this is presently the home of Chislehurst Golf Club and has been since 1894, but the building is properly known as "Camden Place". It's history goes back a long way to the early 17th century when the original building was the home of William Camden, an antiquary and topographer during the reigns of Elizabeth I and James I. Much later it was the scene of a double murder, when in 1813 the then owner, Thomson Bonar and his wife were murdered by a deranged manservant. During the 1870s it was rented to Napoleon III in exile, and on his death the Empress Eugenie and their son the Prince Imperial continued to live there. Queen Victoria used to visit them. In 1890 it was purchased by William Willett, a property developer and the originator of daylight saving. To refer to it just as 'Chislehurst Golf Club' does not do it justice.

Thank you for the very interesting and varied history, however being a golf club for c.115 years is pretty exceptional and trust it will continue for many years to come. By the way I have changed the title to 'Camden Place home of Chislehurst Golf Club'.
