This photo of Glasgow's new £20M award-winning "Squinty Bridge" was taken in June 2007 from the South bank of the river.

In January 2008 the bridge was closed to road traffic on safety grounds when one of the fourteen supporting struts sheared off. Fortunately this happened late at night and no one was injured. The following week cracks were discovered in another supporting strut and the River Clyde has now been closed to all river traffic at this point.
