What a lovely house! I really like the angle you've taken this picture at (I have to work at remembering to capture houses like this...Marilyn, Ryan, and many other members here have been really kind giving me hints and suggestions and now I'm starting to recognize shots taken the way they suggested)

Pam, I'm so glad that you like this, but let me assure you, I'm far from a pro, and I know nothing about angles or anything like that. I just thought it looked nice this way, so I took the shot! It showed off the house the best. I think whatever makes you feel happy and captures what is making you "FEEL" the picture, is what you should do. That is what works best for me.

Why is it called a "smoke house"?

Kathy,
Back before electricity and freezers, smokehouses had hooks in the ceilings to suspend hams and slabs of bacon, etc, to smoke and process meats.
Apparently this little house was once used as an actual Smokehouse way back when! :)
Greetings to you on this fine evening,
