A pair of cranes are manoeuvring a turbine blade. The blade is about 30 metres in length. When completed, the wind farm will have five turbines each with a maximum height of 81 metres. There is another blade on the back of a low-loader truck.

R.E.E. The Spanish electrical grid operator has just published statistics for 2009. They show that all of Spain's wind turbines have only produced 22% of their rated capacity. Since wind turbines also draw back some operational power from the grid, which is not subtracted from their production statistics, my net production estimate of 15% of their rated capacity is probably a more correct figure. This is a very poor production record indeed. If the owners were not allowed to reduce their taxes, none of these large scale wind projects would be viable. NONE! They may not be viable including their tax breaks.
