The summer doesn't get much greener than this. Thanks Berend. I love the canefields with their order, colour, pattern and productivity.

The land on the far side of Tinana Creek was first taken up by R. Travis who was a shareholder in the Maryborough Sugar Company that formed in August 1865. The Maryborough Sugar Company was able to select 1000 acres adjacent to Travis's land (to the west (out of picture). Tinana Creek was navigable this far, a rock bar preventing boats going any further upstream than this.

I believe, Travis's land gave the MSC access to Tinana Creek to which they built an inclined ramp with a winch purchased from a Sydney foundry.
