Heligan House-Lost Gardens of Heligan

Heligan House-Lost Gardens of Heligan

Samson Tremayne had bought the Heligan estate in the 16th century and William Tremayne built their Jacobean ancestral home, Heligan House and the private gardens surrounding the house in 1603. Within a century the house was largely rebuilt in brick in the William and Mary style by Sir John Tremayne, only the basement of the original house survives.
