Eliades Ochoa (Buena Vista Social Club) at Luminato June 2012

Not selected for Google Earth or Google Maps [?]

Eliades Ochoa, the legendary guitar player from Cuba, brought 12 musicians with him to Toronto. Half from Cuba and half from Mali. The concert was called Afrocubism project,.

It was a great experience to be there, the musicians seem to have a great time! Ochoa may not be the world best guitar player or singer, but he brings the great understanding and feeling to his performances.

You do not want the music to end!!

He also make you feel, that YOU are his audience, this is why I have chosen this photo, as he was looking directly at me!

Toumani Diabate on kora is a virtuoso, and was the real star of the show, Bassekou Kouyate on ngoni and Djelimady Tounkara on guitar, were not bad either!
