Here in the meadow is a ruin of an old fortress. It was built by Norwegian troops who in 1645 planned to attack Gothenburg. The protected a bridge down by the Norwegian Hisingen to the Swedish mainland. The attack came, however, by itself, and the Norwegian troops who crossed the retreat across the bridge to the neighborhood on the west. It took place battles until the message of peace in Brömsebro between Sweden and Denmark-Norway that year arrived. The moat and the star-shaped ramparts are still visible. They can also be seen on the map to the right in Panoramio.
