I don't do a lot of urban shots but I liked this colourful scene so here it is.
My thanks to Jethro and Andy for their comments on the earlier version of this that got deleted.
It is a nice scene Sam, looks as though there's been a bit of money spent on doing the place up needs a bit more spending at the back of Matalan, nice bridge but I'm not keen on the design of the building on the left but that's the modern way I suppose. Quite a few frames to make up the whole picture I think.
One man's meat etc... it's the building I like most in the scene :o). Aye there was a few !;O)
The new accommodations for the students is a lovely colourful Building Sam and i do like the design. Did you know During the war a German fighter aircraft fired shells at the bridge, and to this day the cannon shells are still in the bridge, looks like you had a lovely sunny day for this picture. Like..Regards Richard
It's a big improvement on the featureless 70's concrete tower blocks that were a blot on the urban landscape Richard for sure.
Yes it was sunnier in February than it has been this June so far.
Many thanks for your lovely comment and for the fascinating titbit about the bridge.
best wishes, Sam
Sweet and colourful recreation Sam - looking at the thumbnail, I was so sure that it was the Tyne and Baltic I was looking at. Remember I am a long way away!
Lovely ol' son - Jethro
It makes a change for me to do something urban Jethro me auld mate and when I do it's often
something from the Toon/Tyne if it isn't Tees related so you can be forgiven for thinking that from the thumbnail.
I'm pleased you enjoyed this again ( read intro)
many thanks and best wishes, Sam
Nice panorama. Like :)
regards, Sam :o)
A very well balanced image, there is nothing I dislike about it. Richard's factoid about the cannon shells has given it another dimension.
Cheers Mark, the way scrap prices are just now it's a wonder someone isn't winkling them back out.
regards, Sam :O)
