At the far side is the giblah wall facing Mecca with the mihrab, a prayer niche or chamber in the center. To the right on the giblah wall is the minbar (pulpit).

The newly constructed Nizamiye Turkish Masjid located in Midrand, Johannesburg, South Africa is now the largest Masjid (mosque) in the Southern hemisphere.
