Petra - The Lost City

Petra, famous for its strange architecture of buildings excavated in the rock, was established in the 6th century as the capital of the Nabataean kingdom. The site remained unknown to the Western world until 1812, when it was introduced by the Swiss explorer Johann Burckhardt. This image was the first view of the temple called "Treasure", when we arrived in Petra coming out of the canyon.
