The rape seed flowers are almost in full bloom and the North Yorkshire coastal regions seem to be perfect for growing this crop.
This viewpoint, at the top of Upton Hill, gave views across the southern edge of the Cleveland hills over rolling valleys and knolls. Somewhere in the distance (go to full magnification) can be seen one of the last remaining spoil heaps which were common here in this once rich, iron ore mining region. Perhaps the rich minerals in the top soil are good for growing such crops.
