On January 30, 1948, Gandhi left his room through this door to attend a prayer meeting.
Thank you Marilyn, for the photos, which show the place, Mahatma Gandhi lived, though I would have preferred, they hadn't built up those footprints. I do hope it hasn't turned to a place for tourists.
The memory of him isn't attached to a single place than rather spiritually to those like you, Marilyn, who remember him as a peace loving man, which lived and died for his idea to reach a goal.
Special thanks, May, for your well-expressed thoughts on all these Gandhi photos. They have added significantly to my pictures.
I think there is no danger that this spot will be degraded by tourist visits. It is a bit out of the way and doesn't seem to be well known; I believe I mentioned my surprise at finding no pictures of it on Panoramio. The site is tastefully done (whether or not one likes the footprints!), and during our visit, people seemed to share feelings of deep appreciation and reverence.
Thank you Marilyn! For all, who know about Mahatma Gandhi's life and his zeal, your photos show all, there is to say. Yes, you mentioned there were no pictures on Panoramio. And sorry, it's not on me to criticise about the footprints and how people in his country keep his memory. I admire and respect Gandhi as one of the greatest men of the last century.

You know I like these Marilyn :)
Sorry, Roger: I never thanked you for your comment! And May, special thanks for the fine quotation.
