The Passage House pub alongside Cattedown Wharves. Another in my series on industrial ugliness. You see storage sheds, part of an oil refinery and the pub where a lot of the workers go for a bite at lunchtime.

So moody and menacing - really encapsulates the atmosphere. Terrific series.
Are you on Flickr?
Thanks Mariward... yes I do have an account on flickr but I don't use it anymore. I prefer panoramio and with only so many hours in the day and so many scenes to capture... ;-)
Yes, I agree with you somewhat..............Flickr is so demanding.........yet exciting as every time I go on-line somebody is inviting me to join a Group....very sad Im sure for someone of your calibre - but wonderful for my Ego!!!
Hey Mariward, who knows, maybe I might resurrect stuff there... but don't hold your breath :)
hello Mark H-R
great sets of B/W HDR work...i remember whizzing past this place to get my old 69 Vw beetle fixed at the garages nearby...
i will definately keep track of your work all the best laughingmackerel(T)
Thanks LM - you can't beat a Vdub!! Did you ever go to the Run To The Sun?
btw, if you're interested in the workflow I've been using on this series of monos, you can see a video tutorial here - it'll start playing once 10% has been loaded...
yes i made it once in the vdub.. :)..
thank you very much for taking the time to send that link it was really interesting...
all the best
your friend Laughingmackerel (T)
Hey LM(T), if you were there in 2000, 2002 or 2003, I took a bunch of photos for Kaos Designs (as it was then) - you can see them here - links are about half way down... maybe you are in one??
hello HR ..i was there some years before that time....i have been exploring some HDR work too so thanks again for your links ...
No worries, LM(T) - I've been keeping my eye on your monos, keep 'em coming :)
Can't see it as ugly.
I should have given the photo essay its full title Urban Decay and Industrial Ugliness
The way that I've treated the images, people tell me, has resulted in a thing of beauty and that's something that grew on me as the essay progressed.
This one especially surprised me the way what I'd seen came out so much better than I imagined it would...
It seems quite a gem tucked in there between the industrial surroundings. The processing does actually make it attractive. Kasia
Hey Kasia, thanks for your visit. I'm glad you liked it :)
