I thought I'd get out of bed at daft o'clock and see how things looked in glorious North Yorkshire at first light and this was what I saw looking from Blakey Ridge over to Danby Beacon and along the upper reaches of the Esk valley

4:28??? And presume you didn't fall out of bed and take this outside the front door - so I'm guessing this was actually on the way home from the pub - not an early start as your leading us to believe??? ;)

Mine usually are too Ian but when the weather men and women tell me the only sun we'll have will shine early doors then I felt I'd best go remind myself what it looks like ;o). They were right it did shine a little but long after this shot and it was gone again by 10 a.m so I'm sort of pleased I made the effort.

Many thanks !

LOL ! Me in a pub till the early hours Dean would be about as likely as England winning the World Cup. :o)

I like this a lot, Sam.

Getting up at sparrowfart at this time of year can be a wonderful experience. Unfortunately for me I get up at 5:30 most days for work and at 6:00 in Madrid it is still dark, even at midsummer! Different time zones and latitudes and all that!

Best wishes, Andy

Yes i can mate,i can even see Danby Beacon standing proud in the distance, its a glorious shot well worth the effort.

I don't like the sound of that dark morning malarkey but then I don't like getting up early as arule so maybe I'd be ok with it. Glad to read you like this early offering anyway Andy though I can't say that I'll be treating you to this sort of thing regularly :o) I'd gone here to capture a different view Neil but the density of the mist in the valley made it a no can do so I kind of settled for this which looked only so so on the camera screen but when I got it on my monitor at home I was pleased I'd taken it.:o)

Many thanks to you both,

regards, Sam :o)

Thank you Fabio

I might have to get up early a bit more and see what it brings Brian, mind you I do need my beauty sleep so maybe not too often ;o).

Thank you !
