In Monastiraki Square is the former Catholic church. During the Frankish monastery was owned by Nikolaos Bonefatsi. During the Turkish occupation listed as a dependency of the monastery Karea on Hymettus. In later years became a parish church, which celebrated the Assumption of Mary. The church was built (as usual) on the foundations of an ancient Greek temple, and it's obvious of the walls built several sculptures from the ruins of an ancient temple.
