Fantastic! It must be impressive to encounter these animals!
Greetings Manfred, The bison are magnificent animals and always best viewed from 100 feet away through a telephoto lens. If you are in a car you can pass by carefully and be safe, most of the time. Their eyes are beautiful.
The expression of strength and freedom! Cheers, Bepix
Greetings Bepix, The bison are powerful and have beauty and grace. It is nice to be able to see the small herds in Grand Teton and Yellowstone.
Great annimal! I like also the name of the state Wyoming - the music of Longfellow verses. Olga
Greetings Olga, The bison, or buffalo, spends the winter in the Grand Teton Valley. The snow isn't as deep on the east side, so they migrate that way as winter goes on. When spring arrives they are thin, hungry and very shaggy looking. Their only interest is to find something green to eat. They are happy when the valley floor opens up as the snows melt. But I still stay away. Unpredictable and dangerous. A telephoto lens works well.
nice captures from nature Rich
Hello Rich - ahh, that's more like it (with reference to the buffalo at the volcanic mud pit). The background is lovely, three layers of different textures. Best wishes, susan
Greetings Susan, Early spring and this buffalo is pretty hungry. There isn't much growing yet because the snow just melted off and the days are to cool for the grasses to grow. You can see his shaggy winter coat. Late in the summer they are shiny and groomed from eating a good diet.
Great country Great picture.
ILIKE is a TATANKA ;.))
Greetings All, Thanks for the visit to the Tetons to see the huge buffalo. Cheers, Rich
