But, what is the difference between the English and Scottish foods?

Cheers, Jeff

Harry Taggart on July 13, 2012

Samual Johnson (English Dictionary compiler 18TH century) stated that" Oats were fed to horses in England, and eaten by people in Scotland." Jeff,:=( cheers scally.

What old Samual did not know Jeff on Special days. Christmas,Hew year, and birthdays, a finely chopped onion would be added to the boiling porriage to make it a delicious feast. Cheers scally.

Is it Scottish food by adding finely chopped onion? When I was a kid, my parents ocassionally perpared porridge as my breakfast. They have added condensed milk to make it sweet. I have loved it. Because of that habit, I has accept that porridge should be sweet. And, it is a kind of breakfast.

Cheers, Jeff

The thought of putting condensed milk in porriage makes me feel sick,Jeff, the English put sugar in their's. UGHH!! The only things you mix with porriage is Milk and Salt. Now I know why the Chinese are not as tough as the Scots. LOL cheers scally.
