A sea of green plastic protects landscaping attempts at the Leighton Beach redevelopment in January 2008. The image is taken facing north. In the mid-distance can be seen a railway footbridge over the Fremantle to Perth line. The light tower is defunct, but was once used to illuminate a railway freight yard. In the far distance on the left of the image can be seen pine trees adjacent to Cottesloe Beach.
