This picture is of the entrance to a redundant tunnel built circa 1960s to provide railway workers safe access to the signal control centre of the Leighton rail freight yard. It is located on the western side of the yard, almost beneath the public footbridge. The handrail of the footbridge ramp can be seen on the left corner of the image. The vegetation is typical of coastal beach dune species in this region. The graffiti tag is representative of a burgeoning problem in the Perth metropolitan area in the early 21st century.
