This is the last remaining of three? steel light towers which illuminated the Leighton railway marshaling yard in North Fremantle. They were a conspicuous feature of the Fremantle night sky from about the late 1950s. The industrial building in the background is a distribution facility for Tubemakers. The building was originally established in the 1950s by the light engineering company Stewarts & Lloyds when it shifted from premises in South Fremantle.
