A wider view than the blast furnace one Sam and a slightly later time, may be industrial but it makes a good picture.

Cheers Lex I think anywhere industrial has that Mad Max feel but perhaps more so when illuminated at night with smoke blowing around. I like to give a bit of variety Derek :o) Many thanks ! Yes Ian, I have one using a longer lens that really pulls the scene in but it is too large for Panoramio to accept so I have had to settle for this, The benefit of this one is that I used a prime lens and it has produced those lovely starbursts that are more defined than the zoom lens version. I spent three months working on the site Sam making and assembling new parts for the new converyor systems, it was enjoyable so it brings back happy memories, it's a lovely night capture when enlarged the lights sparkle like diamonds. Like Regards Richard

Again - as on your other steel works pictures - there is something very special to those that grew up round them

I can even smell those childhood memories, hear the shift change claxon - and see the heavens glow with the tipping of the molten metal

Yeah - think its that I meant - I know the whole sky over the works at Scunthorpe used to light almost like daylight :)
