Grays Crossing - Otaio River

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

A number of backroads in South Canterbury cross the numerous small rivers there via fords. In its 27km run from the hills, this small river is crossed by four bridges and four fords. All essentially to enable (farming) travel up and down the country where rivers flow straight out to sea from the mountains They are often concreted like this one at Greys crossing but many are not. Generally an "experience" for townies.
