Willcox Landing Fishing Pier on the James River, Charles City County, VA.

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Oddly enough having a fishing pier here keeps this site looking as it has for many a year. This was a pier site where local farmers would load their goods onto boats so as to send them to market. It also played a role in the civil war as a site where U.S.Grant loaded his troops to ferry them to the south shore of the James for his attack upon petersburg after being stalemated by Lee at Cold harbor in 1864.

This is a nice perspective! Do you engage yourself in groups, Richard?
