  • I have a mile or so to get back and find my camp. The tour that day was excellent and it is now important to find my cache of supplies with water.

Wonderful Randy, just wonderful....Time to look for The Sound of Music soundtrack to play for some good background music. LIKE, of course

Thank you Joel,

  • Again, I think you may have posted just before me. I did not expect a comment so soon.

  • This was another very beautiful place. At that time of the day, I am always torn between taking more photos and making my way back to camp. I don’t care to make the 6 o’clock news by freezing. My survival instincts usually win, and I put away my camera and get down to the business of getting out. I made it back to my camp cache at 10pm, with plenty of water and supplies. Here there is no easy water. You must melt it, sleep with it, so it will not freeze, or use other techniques. I had no direct source of water for two days, however I always kept 1-3 liters with me at all times.

Wowzerz, Randy. Such a fantastic image. i definitely appreciate the danger in lingering too long, however this is what the effort was for, no? To capture these magical moments. Often a fine line between getting 'the shot' and one's well being. More-so for you do to the technical portions and your willingness to camp above the tree line ;)
