It's one of our native species (probably a cultivar) that we call kangaroo paw as the shape of each hand resemble the front paw of a roo. Bit difficult to photograph up close because of the multi depths of each flower head.

A bit of sunshine sent your way.

The name "Kangaroo paw" fits well then. :-) Thank you for the sunshine, Ian, though we have plenty here. It snowed the other night, but during daytime we've had marvellous weather with a splendid view to the mountains.

Actually it is a telephoto shot, as it is almost impossible, because of the arrangemeent of the flower head, to take any kind of closeup of Kangaroo Paw. But I am delighted that you love it.
