View Down Fort Avenue, Keyser, Mineral County, WV.

This is the road that leads up to my Great Grandfathers old house. Back in the 60's my sister and I would walk down the hill to a place that sold frozen custard that was called "Custards Last Stand". The large building to the right is a part of Potomac State College which was built on land that was used as a fort during the civil war to protect the vital rail lines of Keyser, from southern raiders who struck the town a couple of times before the the fort was garrisoned.
