EcologistGreg on March 15, 2007

This is the flower of the firewheel tree, Stenocarpus sinuatus, a rainforest tree from northern NSW and eastern Queensland in Australia. It is a member of the Proteaceae, the same plant family with Grevillea, Protea and Waratah.

Its smell be what kind of wonderfully

Greg Steenbeeke on May 14, 2007

Actually, there is no scent. The flowers are pollinated by birds, which have a notoriously bad sense of smell.
