La Geria vineyards..............Lanzarote.

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Viewed West towards 'Yaiza.....This huge area consisting of...'Bodega La Geria'...with tens of thousands of these semi circular walls giving protection to the vines.... remains one of the most important vineyards on the island, with an annual production capacity of 300,000 litres......Each vine is also sunk into a metre deep pit to give even further shelter from the relentless tradewinds.........which nearly blow you off your feet !!!......Dj....

Yes, Dave, and I hope you took the obligatory camel ride! Also took a day trip over to Fuerteventura and picked a real windy day as we literally got "pebble-dashed" by the sand on the beach!!! Never again! Cheers, GL

Just a shame Neil Armstrong is not able anymore to do a landing here..... "Small step for Vines but a huge leap Wines". A lot of hard work is been put in here to grow these here. Makes an extraordinary landscape and a great picture YSL

Best wishes, Erik
