This is the childhood home of legendary Rockabilly singer, song writer and guitarist, Carl Perkins.

Perkins was born in Tiptonville on April 9, 1932.

He was one of the Sun Studios artists, working along side Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and other notables of the era.

He's probably best known for writing the song "Blue Suede Shoes", which he recorded on December 19, 1955 at Sun Studios.

Carl Perkins passed away on January 19, 1998 in Jackson, TN at the age of 65.

While it is great to see the house is still there I wish it was being taken care of a little better.
